Absolutely! We travel anywhere in the U.S., and many areas outside of the U.S. We charge a reasonable travel fee if appropriate, depending on the location of the mission.
We are able to process and deliver the collected data in a safe, secured fashion, no matter the location.
Depending on the location of the mission, we may charge a reasonable travel fee. We always work hard to provide budget-friendly, fair rates for all of our services while providing the highest quality work.
LiDAR technology is a new, groundbreaking technology which uses a laser to calculate distances and creates a 3D pointcloud of the site.
While scanning, if required our LiDAR Solution captures RGB imaging and video of the site simultaneously, which is then combined with the pointcloud to create an accurate and colorized 3D model. From there, with processing softwares, we can cut out “noise” such as people, cars, trees, etc. if requested.
Upon arriving at the site, we conduct a quick walk-through of the area to plan our course of scanning.
We have a device that allows us to walk a path in and around the area with our scanner to quickly and efficiently capture the LiDAR data. Depending on the area, if it’s a high traffic spot it may need to be temporarily closed, or scanning should be conducted before or after hours.
Once captured, the data is then cleaned up and processed, or anything else required by the client before being delivered. We provide the data in a way that is safe and secured, ensuring the data always stays private.
A LiDAR scanning can have amazing accuracy. The accuracy is anywhere between a few millimeters to 2-5 cm in any scan, which is extremely accurate in the case of a 60,000 sq. foot warehouse with office spaces, for example, considering how quickly our LiDAR equipment gets the job done.
Yes – the LiDAR scanner is completely safe. There are no concerns to those who look at or come into close contact with the LiDAR technology, while scanning or not.
We offer LiDAR data as .LAS files, but we can provide data in any other common LiDAR format if needed.
LiDAR data will have to opened with a compatible LiDAR software or viewer, such as Cyclone from Leica, that is able to open LiDAR files for pointcloud (.LAS, e57 etc.). There are also good opensource softwares available, such as CloudCompare.
Every mission brings different requirements. After collecting information from the client on the location of the project, we can determine the time it will take, if any waivers need to be applied for, what equipment we will need to utilize, and how many people are needed on our team (for example, if we need a visual observer or someone to operate the payload).
Once onsite, we conduct a pre-flight safety checklist, asses the equipment, and take off with the drone. There are things to keep in mind when flying a drone, such as weather/environmental hazards, elements obstructing view of the aircraft, checking battery life and so on.
After flying, we process the data if needed, or deliver to the client raw. This is done in a manner that is safe and secured, ensuring the data always stays private from start to finish.
Of course, this is a very brief explanation of the process of a drone service, as there are many elements that go into the planning and successful execution of a drone mission. For further information on the process, contact us with your project details and we would be more than happy to talk about what the unique process will entail.
To fly a drone commercially requires one to obtain a license from the FAA and abide by the rules and regulations the FAA has set in terms of flying a drone for commercial use. Without doing so, you may be issued a penalty. For more information on this, the FAA has more details on drone flying; hit the button below to find out.
We are all FAA certified commercial drone pilots at Inspired Intelligence.
As FAA certified commercial drone pilots, it is our responsibility to use our training and knowledge on FAA drone rules & regulations as well as common sense when it comes to flying a drone for any mission. Depending on the location, we may need to apply for waivers from the FAA, get permissions to fly near airports, and so on. Obtaining waivers can take time, but it is at no responsibility to our clients.
What we need to do in order to prepare for a drone mission is determined at the time of consultation when we collect needed information on the potential upcoming project.
